Dana at CadillacRanch

Dana honed her artistic skills through the study and practice of architecture. Graduating from the University of Texas School of Architecture with a Masters, she practiced with HOK Architects prior to starting her own practice.

Dana has continued to study studio art since high school, most recently at SMU and with Ellen Soderquist.

The nude figure has intrigued Dana as one of the greatest challenges to draw, and as one of the most beautiful and complicated aspects of creation. Nature provides a balm to the soul, and attracts Dana to paint en plain aire.

Formally, Dana Is intrigued by simple shape arrangements, pattern, and the gestural stroke with a brush or a crayon of conte. As she expresses particular concentrated glimpses of the joy of life, she hopes to share this joy with others.
